We have launched a consultation to help shape Somerset’s new Domestic Abuse Strategy – a key plan that will guide how we and our partners work together to prevent domestic abuse, protect those at risk, and support recovery over the next five years.

Domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. It includes emotional, psychological, economic, online, sexual and physical abuse, as well as controlling or coercive behaviour.

We want to ensure that support across Somerset is accessible, effective and responsive to the needs of all communities. Your insight and experience can help us understand what is working well and where improvements can be made – from early intervention and community awareness to safe accommodation and long-term recovery.

You can share your views online on the Somerset Council Domestic Abuse Strategy Public Consultation page, or request a paper copy at your local library in Bridgwater, Taunton, Shepton Mallet or Yeovil.

The consultation runs until 26 January and feedback will help us develop a strategy that truly reflects the voices of local people.
